Job Description:
Under the direction of the Head of Communications and Marketing, the Director of Brand and Marketing Strategy serves as the School’s brand steward. This is a high-level individual contributor and managerial role that requires significant collaboration across multiple departments at the School, keen attention to detail, and a highly organized data-informed mindset. The Director is responsible for the end-to-end production lifecycle of all marketing collateral and the technical maintenance of the School’s primary digital presence.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Personnel & Collaborative Leadership
Manage, mentor, and conduct performance appraisals for the Graphic Designer.
Act as the creative liaison for the Senior Communications Specialist, Director of Internal Communications, and Communications Specialists, supporting the translation of their content into branded visual narratives.
Responsible for maintaining a high standard of professional conduct and emotional intelligence, ensuring that collaborative efforts with other departments (Admissions, Athletics, Arts, etc.) are met with transparency and respect.
Platform Management (Finalsite)
Act as the primary administrator and lead content manager for the School website on the Finalsite platform. Experience with Finalsite is strongly preferred.
Oversee and execute regular site maintenance, page builds, and user experience (UX/UI) updates.
Serve as a thought partner with Internal Communications team members to ensure information for current and future families is accessible and accurate.
Ensure the website serves as a high-performing lead generation tool for Admissions and a central resource for the community.
Brand Management
Organize and oversee the timely production of all creative projects produced by the Communications and Marketing Department, including art direction, brand alignment, quality control, asset creation, and budget tracking.
Lead Parker flagship programs, student-led clubs, and departments through Marcomm’s sub-branding process, which may include creation of custom brand kits and marketing materials.
Ensure consistency and quality of Parker branding across all School print, physical, and electronic materials; hold all Parker departments, divisions, student-led clubs, athletic teams, and new programs accountable to branding guidelines and creative processes.
Develop and maintain scalable brand systems, templates, and guidelines
While supervising the Graphic Designer, the Director must also directly produce high-level creative assets, including graphic design, short-form video, and photography, as needed to meet departmental deadlines.
Build processes that enable the team to deliver high-quality work efficiently and repeatedly.
Maintain personal proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and supporting enterprise software like Canva to ensure no production bottlenecks occur during peak seasons (Admissions/Advancement cycles).
Workflow & Operational Transparency
Must maintain a real-time, shared digital roadmap (leveraging Asana) for all projects that is accessible to the Head of Communications and Marketing.
Required to provide weekly status reports that include internal contributor and vendor correspondences, verified shipping/delivery dates, and appropriate metrics for digital assets.
Professional Standards & Performance Indicators
Successful delivery of major annual projects (e.g., Admissions Accept Package items, Annual Report, School Magazine)
Regular positive feedback from direct reports and cross-departmental partners regarding clarity of communication and ease of collaboration.
100% accuracy in photo/asset selection and Photoshop requirements, ensuring all materials meet the school's quality standards before vendor submission.
Qualifications:
7 or more years of experience in marketing and design with demonstrated success, preferably in the independent schools or the nonprofit sector.
3+ years of experience leading or managing designers.
Bachelors degree in a related area preferred.
Experience developing and managing budgets
Experience hiring, training, developing, supervising, and appraising personnel.
Demonstrated successful experience making presentations and overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
Experience using DSLR cameras and lenses for photography and video production, as well as professional lighting and audio equipment. Preferred
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, website design, and printing processes.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time, get along with coworkers, management
and volunteers, and deal effectively, ethically, and professionally at all times.
Present a professional image as a representative of the School.
Salary and Benefits:

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 per year, based on experience.
